@JohnTundoc it really depends on your goals but if your goal is to learn network automation you should have an understanding first of what you want to automate, and to automate things you need to know what's really going on in the network. I suggest go for CCNA then Python.

I say go for both. INE has some great videos for learning Python, especially as it pertains to scripting for network engineers. I think learning Python would be invaluable for a network engineer.
when i just started working on my website and had no idea what coding and similar stuff is about, i applied for courses at codecademy and mit free courses and now look at this -- time definitely spent worthwhile
I vote for Python!
