Task 2.3 Mock Lab 2
R6 is connected to BB1 using frame-relay - we are asked to config this interface into EIGRP 10 - easy enough and the adjacency works. We are then asked to ensure that only networks 164.X.90.0/16 and 150.X.0.0/16 are advertised to BB1.
R6 is also running EIGRP 100 covering interfaces L0 (150.X.6.6/24) and F0/1 (164.X.26.6/24).
We are not allowed to use ip summary-address eigrp !
Also we can't add static routes as this is a general requirement
OK so my first thought was ensure that EIGRP 10 used auto summary, and add L0 and F0/1 interfaces into EIGRP 10! I couldn't get this work! BB1 didn't see any routes from R6.
Next thought was redistribution - from eigrp 100 into 10 (removing the network statements for L0 and F0/1 under EIGRP 10 first), however redistributed routes do not get summarised on a network boundary so doesn't meet the requirements
I then removed L0 and F0/1 from EIGRP 100 and then added the same networks to EIGRP 10 - this worked - but then you loose the neighborship between R6 and R2 via F0/1. If you follow this to it's logic conclusion - R2's F0/0 would need to run EIGRP 10, and then redistribution between EIGRP 100 and EIGRP 10 would need to be performed on R2 instead! However this would break the requirements for task 2.4.
The only way I can how to get this to work is add to two static routes to null0 for 150.X.0.0/16 and 164.X.0.0/16 and redistribute static into EIGRP 10 - however this breaks the rules!
As anyone else got any comments? In particular have I overlooked an alternative solution?
