soft phone register flap

Hi, I am on voice lab and I use softphone to register to the PSTN router as a PSTN phone. The phone can't register on it and seams to flap constantly. The router's output is below:

Any idea what's the problem?

  • Hello Jordan,

When experiencing this issue, you can try two things to resolve it. First, set the phone type under the ephone configuration. You may also want to try issuing the create cnf command under telephony-service.

Finally, are you using IP Blue? If so, ensure there are not two phones attempting to register to the PSTN router using the same MAC Address.

  • Hello,

Since I am using Cisco IP Comunicator, what type should I set under the ephone configuration? And, because it is automatically registered everytime, what ephone is supposed to set?

    thanks.

  • Hello Jordan,

The type can be set to cipc (To correspond with Cisco IP Communicator) To find out which ephone to set the type under, issue a show ephone registered command from exec mode to discover the ephone identification number.
