Hi,
1 Can somebody provide "detail" explanation, provide documentation,
and video’s for tracing (SDL and SDI) a live call in ccm( 7.x as well as
4.x)
(Detail means, what is there in these file, how 2 interpret them wording in
the file)
2 Also how 2 take the cdr's and interpret them
3. I would like to suggest that IE new VOD should include these in detail( around 2 hour)
in new VOD ( for cucm 7.x, not present in old VOD), as trouble shooting
is major part now in exam and from my job experience also I know it is part of
real life troubleshooting(i m good in GW but not in CUCM)
Thx in advance (I know I m very buggy [:P], as I want to learn and then put
into practice [:D])
Regards

Hello,
Reading the traces is quite a detailed process, and it will be covered in the Class on Demand. Cisco has limited documentation, and there are few sources available for 7.X. 4.X is better documented. I would reccomend the book Troubleshooting Cisco IP Telephony, the link below is a sample from the book, covering the capter on reading the traces.
Note that the SDI traces are the most helpful, as they are at process level, rather than code level for the SDL traces, which are typically used for TAC and development engineering.
