4.11 Redistribution

Hi Brian and Brian,

I would like to start this new thread here for this topic.
Going through the existing discussions on 4.11, i am bit confused as to how to approach a complex Redistribution topic such as this.

Can you please try and post solution/explanation based on Route tagging/untagging on Routers R2, R3 and R4 as its very difficult to follow the logic based on AD in the Solution Guide.
I have tried the route tagging/untagging method for Full Reachability using the serial link between R4 and R5,(FR between R4 and R5 shutdown with no frame-relay int-dlci 513 on R5 FR Interface) and i get intermittent connectivity to BB2 from R1.
I can still ping BB2 from R5.

    I have done this task using route tagging in OSPF.
    Here is the solution that I have in R2, R3 and R4 (I have the same redistribution config).

    Basically, in OSFP I redistribute everything. OSPF always prefers internal routes before external routes.

    In EIGRP, I redistribute only the OSPF routes and not the EIGRP routes learned in OSPF.

    You have to do the same thing in the RIPv2 domain. Don't redistribute the RIP routes learned in OSPF.

    There is the config. Simple and it works fine.

    router eigrp 10
    redistribute ospf 1 metric 1 1 1 1 1 route-map in-eigrp

    router ospf 1
    log-adjacency-changes
    redistribute eigrp 10 subnets tag 1

    route-map in-eigrp deny 10
    match tag 1
    !
    route-map in-eigrp permit 20
