Task 4.7 Network Address Translation

Wouldn't a similiar configuration need to be applied to R6's connection to BB1? The task requirement was to ensure that customers of BB3 didn't have specific reachability information for your network. As BB1 and BB3 are both in AS54 wouldn't BB1 update BB3 of your internal address space?

The scope of task is limited to only BB3 not the entire AS 54. If the task asked us to do NAT for the whole AS 54 domain, then you should apply the NAT policy for BB1 and BB3.

    Hope this help!

  • Hi

For reachability to all BB3 networks (some are reachable via BB1) due to the LOCAL-PREF configuration made earlier. NAT must be configured on both BB1 & BB3 and has to be in sync. In other words using stateful NAT (SNAT).

After I tried testin variuos reachabilities to prefixes learned from AS54 I found that the only way is to configure SNAT peering btw R3 and R6 (the border routers with AS54).
