Can someone help

I work for a service provider. We are considering configuring a 7609 where
I am trying to connect a packet inspection device from one of the interfaces of  the
router  facing the Internet and connect it back to another interface ( like hairpin concept).

One solution provided to us is use of multiple vrf instances in order to hairpin traffic out of the router,
through a packet inspection device, back to the router
and out to the internet. This router is running BGP carrying the BGP routing table. I could not get it to work properly.

If anyone has experience regarding this type of configuration,
I would be interested in knowing the config, effects on memory,
processor utilization and any other problems you may have experiences.

Thanks in advance!
