ODD OR EVEN ROUTES

If question dictates that only recive odd or even routes.does it mean that we have to check the 1st octet of the routes or wt?

It depends on the networks that you are receiving.  If you are receiving Class C for example 212.18.0.0, 212.18.1.0, 212.18.2.0 etc .... then you would want to filter based on 3rd octet.

Typically the question will specify which octet.  If it does not, it may be an "ask the proctor" moment.  If it is a practice, then I would go with the highest octect that is not all zeros.
