do we need the command NTP broadcast under sw1 ??? it is only supposed to function as a client
I left it out as well. Everything worked fine.
Should only need the ntp broadcast client command on SW1 for it to process the NTP broadcast packets for local clock updates.
Just had a look through the IE Forums Archive and there are two postings there which agree that 'ntp broadcast' under interface vlan41 on SW1 is unnecessary
also posting below proposes an alternative solution using Multicast - interestingly the default MC address used for NTP is 126.96.36.199
Must be some quirk between IOS versions. I had to configure the ntp broadcast client command on SW1 before it would process the NTP broadcasts from R4.
Same as Jeff...didnt work without the client one
in the doc cd command ref...they are putting the pair of commands on 2 interfaces not just one broadcast for this to work
