Graded Labs / IE VWB1 - DSP issues

Looking for some feed back.

In VLWB page 18. "Configure the ISDN E1 PRI settings to CRC4 Framing, HBD3 line-code, and assign the first ehree timeslots to the PRI link"

I get the following if I try to configure even one channel.

VORack05R3(config-controller)#pri-group timeslots 1
 Channel setup failed!!! s:t:c 1:0:15
HDV slot 1 DRAM size 524280 free 8857 need 51424

The solution outline is no help as it would have me define even more channels.  The "Show Diag" shows that there a number of PVDM's on the HDV.

Anyone else seen this issue?  I feel like I am fighting a gear issue.

Thoughts?

  • This might be just a transiet issue, or a signal of resource exhaustion. Try issuing the command

    show voice dsp active

to check the allocated DSP channels and then try reloading the box and configuring the PRI again.

  • Petr:

The sh voice dsp active came back blank as in no DSP's.  Software reload did not fix the issue.  Power cycle via the rack control pannel did correct the issue.

    Thanks,

    CBS

  • I came across this issue as well.

When I did a sh run on the router I saw that a pri-group of 1 timeslot was already defined.

I removed this - shut down controller, serial interface and voice-port, then no pri-group... and was then able to create the pri-group with 3 timeslots.

Maybe this is configured in the intiial config that is loaded on the router.....

    Cheers
