CSC Hierarchical MPLS VPN- pg 176

I can't get this to work in lab workbook 1. I believe my configs are exact, my BGP vpnv4 table matches output of book, sw1 and bb1 route tables are correct, sw2 and bb2 route tables are correct. I can't get ping to work either direction in either vrf sourcing from the appropriate loopback (both vrf sw1-bb1 and sw2-bb2). Any gotchas I should look out for? I've cleared bgp numerous times and have rebooted. traceroutes die at the first hop each time even though bgp table appears to know what to do with it and I also have routes to the recursive next hop. Thanks!

  • What happens in the MPLS transit path? You need to look at the transit of the VPN label and the transport label. Refer to the CoD for a more detailed explanation of this.

  • It looks like r5 has an igp lab for r6's loopback as untagged which I believe is wrong. I think it is supposed to be pop.
