SNMPv3 Views Best Practices

Hi all,

Question, is there any security issues related to just using "#snmp-server view X iso include"? With this I will obviously use authPri and define access from only the one NMS.

Just curious about best practices here with views - because I really don't won't to go around and find all the one liners for all SNMP features I would need. Or do people do this?

  • The SNMPv3 security model defines how secure is the SNMPv3 communication between the SNMP agent (router) and SNMP manager (the SNMP application). The SNMP view (which is not specific to SNMPv3, but to SNMP), defines what level of access does the manager have over the agent (like what can it read), by default being able to read everything.
