Reset tcp connection
I'm watching "Understanding TCP Protocol" with Keith Bogart. I'm on TCP Resets video and now i want to do an experiment. from my laptop i'm setting ssh session to ubuntu server. I have my socket as 192.168.11.11:55555 to 192.168.11.12:22. Now using hping3 from the same same laptop i'm trying to reset this session with:
hping3 -c 1 -R -p 22 -s 55555 192.168.11.12
i see in wireshark that the packet is coming out but it does not reset the session. So from that i understand that socket identification as source ip:port and destination ip port is not enough. What else needs to be in a packet to finish or reset the connection?
