Juniper - PIM AD 105

Hi all,

I'm a CCIE-to-be. And i don't know if this
is the good place to poste this question about Juniper and his various AD (For
IGP and no-IGP protocols).

From this
link: http://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos15.1/topics/reference/general/routing-protocols-default-route-preference-values.html

You can see, that PIM has an AD. And from
my understanding of the RFC 2362
, PIM is not a
routing protocol, he don't build his own topology and discover neighbors as do
an IGP (OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS). Consequently, there is no PIM routes

So my question is: Why PIM has an AD in
the Juniper world ?

Thanks in advance for your responses,

Brgds,

Fay ONIS
