Which Domain?

My sincere apologies for disturbing your obvious busy time sirs. I have made
up my mind on networking to the end as a career and I would be most
grateful for your kind counsel. Please for a starter with exposure to
RnS to Associate level, which of the following tracks would you advice
which would
(1) Give higher ROI
(2) Give a wider scope/exposure and adaptability to the others i.e. DC or SP or Collaboration or RnS ?
(3) What recommendable live gear models would be best for each domain e.g. for a home lab?

(4)
With the changing collaboration, DC and security, how does one get
reliable current materials for studies and prep? which are the recent
exam codes for DC and Security and collaboration and RnS ?

Thanks for your most anticipated kind revert

  • What is your current job? you have an exposure to R&S associate level?, start with R&S because it is the fundamental.
    (1) Give higher ROI
Don't look at the money first, your goal is to learn the technologies
(2)Give wider scope/exposure and adaptability to the others i.e. DC or SP
Majority of blog posts and other people I know take CCIE R&S first then go directly to CCIE SP since there are overlapping technologies in their blueprint.
    (3) What recommendable live gear models would be best for each domain?
Don't think about this first, think about your first goal. CCIE R&S lab exam uses IOU (IOS On Unix) so it is a virtual lab, the exam will not be hardware-based it will be on the features. With CCIE R&S, you can use CSR1000v for your preparation, this is used by Brian McGahan with his Advance Technologies Class and the R&Sv5 workbook.
    (4) With the changing collaboration, DC, and Security, how does one get recent materials for studies and prep? which are the recent exam codes for DC, Sec, Collab., and R&S?
You could easily google this seriously. A good network engineer knows how to utilize the search engine. Start with learningnetwork.cisco.com it contains all the updated information with Cisco's certifications.

  • Thanks for the guide and advice. Sincere apologies for the double posting. Not intentional, thought it had different people in the different domains so i could get more divergent views.
