Is there a good way to set up, view and log traps from RMON to my PC on home LAB?
personally i just use the command "debug ip packet 100 dump" where access-list 100 matches UDP packets sent to SNMP trap port. This way you can see the content of the UDP packet when the router generate a trap. Of course, it's better to run some SNMP manager software on your PC and hook it to the rack. However this is a problem with rental racks, so I usually stick with the ACL "dump" method.
I am going over the SNMP/ROMN part of the advanced technologies class and would like to set up a SNMP server. Is there a good freeware server out there you can recommend?
