Cisco IOU ethernet Interface are not congruent

In IOU switch interfaces are not congruent they are like below:

0/1

0/2

1/0

1/1

1/2

1/3

2/0

2/1

3/0

3/1

4/0

4/1

5/0

5/1

so on...

How can i change them like they are in real switch

e.g:

1/1

1/2

1/3

1/4

.

.

.

.

1/24

Any suggestion ?

Thank you

  • for the iou on linux that has been leaked out it is not possible.  cisco may use iou for unix based on solaris; but i am not sure if that is even possible with unix-based.

just change configs from fa0/1 to e0/1

  • All IOU version group the interfaces in pairs of 4 (e0/0 to e0/3).

same interface numbering with cisco 360 rack rentals and in the lab.

  • That means they use IOU. What about CSR?

  • CSR is a different product. If you want to get the lab experience you can either do one of the

360 graded labs or try the CCIE Lab builder which also uses the same environment.

since they claim it for both products it should not be a secrect.
