Cisco VIRL

Hey guys

Just a heads up, seems Cisco have released VIRL towards the general public. Annual subscription of $199, and they have a promo code "VIRL50" they're passing out which will give you 50% off. Looks like you can do almost everything: IOS, NX-OS, IOS-XR, CSR1000v. Check it out.

  • And my bad, the "VIRL50" coupon gives you $50 off your subscription.. not 50%!! There's an academic version for $79.

  • Can we use INE workbooks with cisco VIRL .

  • Yes the coupon is still valid, it wasn't a Cyber Monday only coupon.

And as for INE labs, I'm not sure. There is no support for switches similar to GNS3, but you are good on the routing front.

  • You can use it for all the advanced technologies labs except the LAN switching ones.

  • well most likely we need to use a common Layer 2 domain if L2 switch missing

  • Yes, you just need to connect them to the to “Multipoint Connection”, which is essentially a vSwitch.  I’m writing up a blog post now on how to get it to work.  Once you get past the install process, which is kind of a pain, getting the topology running is pretty straightforward.
