RIPv2 Default Routing

Hi,

The mentioned alternative in the sample solution to configure a static default route on R6 is, surprisingly, not correct. In fact, we would have to filter the default route on the G1.67 Interface. RIP somehow skips the route-map check when we have a static default route configured

router rip
version 2
timers basic 10 60 60 80
network 150.1.0.0
network 155.1.0.0
distribute-list 12 in
no auto-summary

RIP: sending v2 update to 224.0.0.9 via GigabitEthernet1.146 (155.1.146.6)
RIP: build update entries

       150.1.6.6/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 1, tag 0
       150.1.7.7/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 2, tag 0
       150.1.9.9/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 3, tag 0
       [...]

RIP: sending v2 update to 224.0.0.9 via GigabitEthernet1.67 (155.1.67.6)
RIP: build update entries

       150.1.1.1/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 2, tag 0
       150.1.3.3/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 8, tag 0
       150.1.5.5/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 3, tag 0
       [...]

Now we configure a static default route to Null and add "default-information originate route-map RM_VLAN146"

R6#sh run | s router rip
router rip
version 2
timers basic 10 60 60 80
network 150.1.0.0
network 155.1.0.0
default-information originate route-map RM_VLAN146
distribute-list 12 in
no auto-summary
R6#sh run | i ip route
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Null0

RIP: sending v2 update to 224.0.0.9 via GigabitEthernet1.146 (155.1.146.6)
RIP: build update entries

       0.0.0.0/0 via 0.0.0.0, metric 1, tag 0
       150.1.6.6/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 1, tag 0
       150.1.7.7/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 2, tag 0
       [...]

RIP: sending v2 update to 224.0.0.9 via GigabitEthernet1.67 (155.1.67.6)
RIP: build update entries

       0.0.0.0/0 via 0.0.0.0, metric 1, tag 0 <<< Static Route sent on Gig1.67
       150.1.1.1/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 2, tag 0
       150.1.3.3/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 8, tag 0
       [...]

R6(config)#no ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Null0
R6(config)#do debug ip rip

RIP: sending v2 update to 224.0.0.9 via GigabitEthernet1.67 (155.1.67.6)
RIP: build update entries

       150.1.1.1/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 2, tag 0
       150.1.3.3/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 8, tag 0
RIP: sending v2 update to 224.0.0.9 via GigabitEthernet1.146 (155.1.146.6)
RIP: build update entries

       0.0.0.0/0 via 0.0.0.0, metric 1, tag 0
       150.1.6.6/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 1, tag 0
       150.1.7.7/32 via 0.0.0.0, metric 2, tag 0
