Problems with Ine's racks

I've just started with ine's racks and it's being very painful and frustrating. The connection is getting lost very often and pretty quickly, in fact doing any lab is simply impossible, and I'm seeking any feedback and suggestions about what may be done to find a solution. Here are the results of a ping and tracert to ine's racks (I'm currently based in Galway, in the west coast of Ireland):

  • Hi,

I think that you're the only one that could solve your problem. Looking at the RTT from your pings, I have a bad feeling about this. Medium value is about 500ms, which I think it's pretty big. I have a RTT of about 200-250ms at maximum and works pretty well, but in your case, I don't know what to say. Have you tried the connection to racks.ine.com from a different ISP than the current one ? That could help ...

    Good luck !!

EDIT : Thinking about it some more, probably average RTT is important but not as important as maximum RTT.

Run a ping to racks.ine.com with a high repeat rate, let's say 500-1000 packets, and look for maximum RTT value.

Maximum RTT value may be the reason of your connection resets.

  • Thanks for your feedback Ciprian. Right now I'm connecting to the internet through a wireless connection which is pretty basic and so that's probably at the root of this issue. Assuming this conclusion to be correct then the solution is obvious, i.e., get an appropriate connection.

    Regards,

    Rashid
