Through put test

Hi All,

I have to test real through-put on a non-line of sight link(Ethernet), I’m planning to use 1941 router’s in both ends. Now my questions and where I’m hoping for some good recommendations. What type of equipment or software could I use for through-put testing ?

  • iPerf is what I use for everything. Simple and free

  • Hi Steen,

I subscribe to jPERF as well, acceptance tests are run in my company when delivering local loop circuits or even long run one. Very nice tool !

  • Software-wise just run iPerf/jPerf. For real production as you scale, this is what Ixia and Spirent do. Google "ixia traffic generator" and "Spirent traffic generator".
