iSCSI Dynamic Initiators

Hi,

Can someone enlighten me on how to assign VSAN (other than
VSAN 1) to iSCSI initiators,

other than under vsan database where you would assign the
whole iscsi interface, i.e;

vsan database

 vsan 10 interface iscsi 1/1

With Static initiators one can assign a vsan for the specific
initiator, e.g

iscsi initiator ip-address
10.11.50.100

 vsan 10

Thanks.

  • An iSCSI initiator does not care or know about VSANs.  VSANs are Fibre Channel.  In the case of iSCSI on an MDS, the MDS is doing iSCSI - FC conversion, and so the iSCSI target is the only interface needing to know about vsans.
