WB-1 BGP 7.8 iBGP Route Reflection with Clusters Issue

Hello,

I configured BGP RR with clusters but i am not able to ping 112.0.0.1 from R5 with source lo0 where same configuration is available on R3 and R1 and able to ping 112.0.0.1 successfully.

what you think? what could be the issue? Is this GNS3 issue or any bug?

  • You have to check if the BB router is receiving R5's Loopback as an advertisement. Go to the closes router that peers BGP with the BB router and do a show ip bgp neigh x.x.x.x adv.

    Make sure R5's Loopback is in there.

    I was wonder the impression that the Loopbacks were all /32, not /24. But I may not be remembering this correctly.

    but loopback 0 is advertised as /24 on all routers and switches and able to ping 112.0.0.1 from all devices but except from R5 and SW2.

     

    please suggest...

  • hello guys..

     

    issue resolved.... i was advertising 204.12.1.10 with auto summary on SW2 by mistake therefore from R5, next hop was not reachable and when i trace from R5 then it was going towards SW2..
