What is RSTP edge port.

All the docs says that edge port in RSTP basically corresponds to the PortFast feature in standard STP.
My doubt is, to have an edge port in RSTP, do we need to manually configure portfast command under the interface?

Yes you need to configure portfast to activate Edge port. You configure it in the same way (same commands) either globally or on the interface.
Edge means right on the edge [;)], nothing further to go from switch prospective.
But otherwise Port fast is that funny feature we always have to enable manually. Either Globally or on per port/port range basis.
