VOICE NETWORK ENGINEER
Title: Voice Engineer
Reports To: Director – Network Communications
Technical Architecture – Communications team is responsible for
architecting, documenting, implementing, and planning maintenance for a global data, voice and video conferencing network. In
addition, the team is responsible for assuring the training of 1st and 2nd
level operation technicians on the selected technologies and for
developing support procedures. The communications team identifies new
voice, video, data and wireless network technologies that can increase
productivity, save money or further empower consultants and researchers
to generate revenue for the firm. The Technical Architecture –
Communications team works closely with the Operations and Training
groups and the client (user) community to accept input and feedback
regarding potential or selected technologies. All team members must have
a keen sense of the impact of technological implementations and the
failure of those technologies on the business. All team members
cross-train and support each other to provide ubiquitous service to
Operations and to the Firm.
Architect, document, implement, and plan maintenance for the global voice network. Provide 3rd
level support and train level 1 and level 2 operations support.
Occasionally interface with end-users. Identify new technologies and
solutions that have the potential to save money or assist in the
generation of revenue. Work closely with the video and data engineers
to fully support all technical architecture team products.
successful individual will have excellent diagnostic skills and must
have in-depth operational experience with Cisco Unified Communications
Manager v7.x or higher and Cisco Unity v8.x or higher. The individual
should have knowledge of Cisco routers and switches. In addition, the
individual should have the skills required to lead a project, train 1st and 2nd
level support, document procedures, troubleshoot problems, prepare
presentations and architect new networks and systems. The individual
must have experience in both designing and maintaining large voice
networks. Strong communication and team skills are a must.
Education and/or Experience:
degree in a technical discipline, with at least three years Cisco
Unified Communications Manager and Unity experience. Cisco
certifications and/or examinations (CVOICE, CIPT1, CIPT2, TVOICE) a
