Initial Configs? (IEWB-RS-VOL1-v5)
So I downloaded the intial configs. In the zip file there are 4 directories: bgp, eirgrp (sic), ip, and layer2. Each directory has 34 subdirectories -- rsrack1 to rsrack34. And each of these 34 directories has the exact same config files for 4 switches and 6 routers -- only the hostname differs.
The workbooks mention "basic IP addressing initial configurations", "Initial RIP Configuration intial configurations" (YES, "Initial RIP Configuration intial configurations"), etc.... But these don't exactly correspond to the intial config files I downloaded.
I suspect some cleanup is needed.... if not, please explain how I'm supposed to use all these config files.

The RIP ones should be correct, they're just not mapped out for each
rack number. Are they causing problems with the actual labs?

Huh? What do you mean? I'm trying to give you feedback on a very confusing aspect of your products. Any chance you can clean up the initial configs so that they match the verbage in your workbook? Or do we, your customers, have to figure out your intent?
Let me revisit the naming convention used for them and I'll reorder
them today.
Thanks,

iam also have a problem it is not tidy enough to use it and iam in lost can your team internetworkexpert check them and fix it and guide us how to use them in our home lab
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out which are the default configs for EIGRP. I see the following in the initial configs folder:
* in the main folder, there are files with format: iewb-rs-vol1.v5.basic.eigrp.routing.r1.txt
* and also: iewb-rs-vol1.v5.initial.eigrp.configuration.r1.txt
and then there is a subfolder: iewb-rs-vol1-v5-eirgrp
and in that, there are files according to the rack number. Just wondering which ones need to be loaded before I get started.
Thanks for you help
Kamran
One more thing...so I ended up using the configs from the folder: iewb-rs-vol1-v5-eirgrp
I noticed that the first task requires that Auto Summary should NOT be disabled but the intial configurations have Auto Summary Disabled. Maybe that could be changed cuz that's just extra work.
thanks
I had some questions myself in regards to how to apply the initial configs for home lab use. I haven't seen any updates to this thread since the end of last month and was wondering if I've missed the update somewhere on another post or in another section of the forums. Anything new come of this yet that anyone knows of?
Hi Lou,
from my experience, I found that for EIGRP, don't take any of the config files from the "iewb-rs-vol1-v5-eirgrp". For the first 13 or so sections, you'll use the "initial configurations" that are in the main folder and then the lab will ask you to erase your config and load the "basic" eigrp config.
