Service Profile= Server Pool

After creating a server pool, how service profile will choose which blade to be used on UCS ?

Hi Alby,

 

When you have a server pool and asign the service profile to the server pool. UCS automatically pics up the server whihc is not already associated and the service profile will be associated with that. Basically the service profile is automatically associated with one of the server in the server pool.

thank you, I got that, let me rephrase it, how service profile associate itself to server ?

1-Randomly choose server from server pool?

2-follows certian order, ei  first in, first out (FIFO)?

UCS picks next available server in the pool. The order is from lowest chassis ID and Slot ID.

Ganesh is correct. As an alternative, you can just manually associate a SP to a blade.
