question 1.5 enabling ripv2 and ospf on asa1

When RIP is enabled, the network statement is "network 162.1.0.0", which enables RIP on both interfaces. This is indeed all the solution set shows.
When I went through it though, I enabled:
passive-interface default
no passive-interface inside

It seems like this would be the 'better' solution, since the IE solution technically enables rip on both interfaces.
Opinions?
TIA
