Access Server -- need help , driving me mad

Dear all ,

I have access server 2511-RJ , with the configuration below , + a bunch of verified rollover cables connected to my kits ,  but i still cannot reverse telnet into any of them, please could someone tell me where i am going wrong -- do i need to do any commands on the consoles of the actual devices?

i have trawled the net and im pretty sure ive set up exactly how others have.

  • Hi Markus,

sorry -- thats a negative there -- i still get the same

  • Hmm thats a lot debug output here.

Do you get access through usual console adapter from your pc to the devices?

Are they 9600/8/N/1? Is the config-register of the devices you wanna telnet to "0x2102" or a different?

That is a lot of debug here but it looks like the session is created. Have you an AUI adapter?

Does the session get terminated or you simply dont get output on the line?

    Regards!

    Markus

  • Hi Markus, yes i can get normal console access to my kits , i didnt set any line config on the consoles of the actual kits , from my laptop i do normal console parameters on the comm port -- all is okay here.

i was under the impression config-register  is to to with whether kits ignore nvram on bootup, they are all the same though -- 0x2102

i did extra testing, that noisy debug happens whether something is connected to the async ports or not , i guess its just packets from 'router telneting to itself'

  • is been resolved, i seem to have 4 bad rollovers in my bunch of 8

so yet again , cabling issue :)

    thank u for the replies

  • Cool you found the problem

    !

Yes you are partial right with that. With the confreg you can also change the console speed. Check that link here:
