Re: Meetme & MRGL

If we want to force CUCM to use hardware conference resources for a Meetme conference

I think best way is to add a MRGL to conference initiator's phone.

This MRGL should have a MRG containing hardware conference bridge.

Software CFBs of callmanager servers can be left in default MRG (no MRG)

Is this method ok?

  • Yes the method is okay, and this is the only way you use the HW CFB. Also, the conference participants phones also should have access to the same MRG otherwise they can't join the conference.

You should create a seperate MRG to put all unused CUCM default media resources like CUCM CFB, CUCM ANN etc. Leaving them at 'no MRG' means anyone can use it.

    Hope this clears.

  • Hi,

As far as I know , conference participants don't need access to MRG containing hardware CFB.

Only conference initiator should have HW CFB MRG in his MRGL.

Once initiated , anybody can join the conference (whether or not their MRGL includes CFB MRGL)  if their CSS includes meetme number partition.

This seems work ; but no document found yet to prove or disprove my argument.

    Thanks
