Buying single packages like BGP of CCIP?

Hi guys!

Anyone out there of you who bought a single package from a CCxP package?

I mean when you only need lets say BGP for your certification path and you go to the website you obviously have to buy the whole CCIP package for 299$.

Before contacting sales support I wanted to ask for your opinions if you also like me think that it would be a good one when you could buy every sub-package on its own.

TIA!

Regards!

Markus

    Markus,

If the whole CCIP package is for 299$ it is worth buying the whole package rather than going for a single course.  I bought the BGP and MPLS for 299$ and then when I was looking to buy the package for QoS it was around 799, so for CCIP if you are getting the package for 299, I would go ahead with it.

  • Yeah I know what you mean...

299$ isnt that expensive but I would only need the BGP section as I already got the MPLS ones...but maybe I will buy it I dont know yet...will decide it after the weekend.

    Thanks anyways!

  • Based upon what I percieve your knowledge level to be from your forum posts, I would say not to waste your money.  The BGP vids are designed for CCIP, Keith Barker even mentions in the vids that it doesn't go into CCIE level depth.  I really love Keith as an instructor but if you're wanting it for CCIE I think you would find it lacking.

I will also enforce same version of thoughts. If you need BGP then try to have OLS (open lecture series) for CCIE R&S. Any thing below CCIE is wastage of money. You will be disappointed by results. Vids may not be poor but level of discussion could be lower level than CCIE.

  • Ok thanks for the advice! I will then have a deeper look into the open lecture series.

Does anyone have a link here? Searched the site but could not find it somehow :(.

The link from the INE blog does not work:

  • There is one caveat that OLS is actually an abandoned product. I have not seen any update to this product since long time more than an year or more. There are a lot of videos, if memory served well, around 80 videos on all the topics including bgp, ospf and mpls.

You can directly ask to sales for video matrix or search google.
