2.4 does not filter area 5,57 routes out....

hi There,

this solution is incorrect as it leaves the area 5,57 routes in .. also the verification on the SG is on sw3 not bb2 ,..?

this lab is all over the place...:-(

RS.5.5.BB2>sh ip rou ospf
156.5.0.0/16 is variably subnetted, 5 subnets, 3 masks
O IA    156.5.0.0/16 [110/10] via 192.10.5.2, 00:02:03, Ethernet0
O IA    156.5.5.0/24 [110/2019] via 192.10.5.2, 00:08:38, Ethernet0
O IA    156.5.7.0/24 [110/2218] via 192.10.5.2, 00:08:38, Ethernet0
O IA    156.5.57.0/24 [110/2019] via 192.10.5.2, 00:08:38, Ethernet0
O IA    156.5.34.0/31 [110/3217] via 192.10.5.2, 00:08:38, Ethernet0

150.5.0.0/16 is variably subnetted, 4 subnets, 2 masks
O IA    150.5.10.10/32 [110/2219] via 192.10.5.2, 00:00:05, Ethernet0
O IA    150.5.9.9/32 [110/3218] via 192.10.5.2, 00:00:05, Ethernet0
O IA    150.5.7.7/32 [110/2020] via 192.10.5.2, 00:00:05, Ethernet0
O IA    150.5.0.0/20 [110/11] via 192.10.5.2, 00:00:05, Ethernet0

you need to also filter these out..

Rack5R2(config)#do sh ip pref
ip prefix-list BB2: 2 entries
   seq 5 permit 156.5.0.0/16
   seq 10 permit 150.5.0.0/20

Rack5R2(config-router)# are 51 filter-list prefix BB2 in

RS.5.5.BB2>sh ip rou ospf
O IA 156.5.0.0/16 [110/10] via 192.10.5.2, 00:05:39, Ethernet0
     150.5.0.0/20 is subnetted, 1 subnets
O IA    150.5.0.0 [110/11] via 192.10.5.2, 00:12:14, Ethernet0
RS.5.5.BB2>

  • Hi lee_maynard2003,

I agree with you. (sh ip ospf database | b Area 51 could also help in similar situations to determine what is advertised into a specific area, if BB's CLI is not available)

    regards,

    Gabor

  • Be careful here.

The task state "R2 should advertise a summary of the internal network as well as the Loopback0 networks to BB2." It doesn't say anything about not sending any specific route to BB2. It's depends how you read or look at it.
