Task 9.1

It asks not to block any other hosts.
Hosts are
200.0.1.2
200.0.1.18
200.0.1.10
200.0.1.26
200.0.3.2
200.0.3.10
200.0.3.26
200.0.3.18

by using
access-list 1 deny 200.0.1.2 0.0.2.24

we are denying hosts from 2-26 in each network whereas question mentions not to deny any other host

Is this correct please let me know
access-list 1 deny 200.0.1.2 0.0.2.0
access-list 1 deny 200.0.1.10 0.0.2.0
access-list 1 deny 200.0.1.26 0.0.2.0
access-list 1 deny 200.0.1.18 0.0.2.0

Thanks

  • I love these things. This one confused me because I forgot if the AND/XOR logic gates do something funky when you stack more than two of them. Nope, if you have all 1s, that AND column is a 1. If you have a mix of any type, that XOR column is a 1.

The more interesting thing I noticed is that Windows' calculator has an AND and an XOR button, and you can use them straight from decimal mode. How this escaped me until now I have no idea. Try it out. I punched in 26, hit AND, 18 AND 10 AND 2, and the number changed to the lowest common denominator each time. Trust but verify.
