Dear Experts,

  • What have you done to verify this configuration?

Start with verifying if the neighbors are connected:

show bgp [vpnv4 | vpnv6] unicast all summary

How about the RIB are there any routes to advertise to the neighboring AS?

    show route [ipv4 | ipv6] vrf ABC

    show bgp [vpnv4 | vpnv6] unicast all

You only show partial configuration for BGP, how about the VRF address-family and VRF configuration. Are you're route-target import/export policies defined? Are the networks advertised or redistributed into MP-BGP?

  • Dear,

    Default:

    1. IOS: VPNv4 speakers only accept VPNv4 routes with route-target matching a local VRF. You can disable default operation by command "no bgp default route-targer filter"

    2. XR 4.0.3: VPNv4 speakers retain to accept VPNv4 routes without route-target matching a local VRF. The command "retain route-target all" under address-family vpnv4 mode don't effect anything but it is very useful if you use with route policy to control what you do want to filter like this "retain route-target route-policy FILTER_RT_POLICY"
