Default Trunk Mode on Cat2950
Dear Friends,
what is the Default Trunk Mode on Cat2950. Is it ISL or Dot1q. I beleive 2950 doesnt support ISL. Correct me if I am wrong.
I understand that we cant configure switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q, so does it get configured automatically?
Thanks,

when you define trunk you will always default to Dot1q encapsulation.
Andrius
Hi,
If a Cisco switch does not support command "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q", it means it does not support ISL, thus DOT1Q is the only option, which is default and non-configurable.
Good luck with your studies!
Hi ashe.
The Cisco 2950 doesn't support ISL. So you are correct.
Erick
Hi Ashse,
You are correct there is no switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q command and dot1q is default encapsulation protocol.
HAPPY STUDY
