QOS

What methods have you guys used to Crack QOS.  I've never really dealt with it much in any job I had and most networks usually already have it done.  This seems like one of the toughest things for me to crack.  I have decied to move on after 3 weeks of QOS and circle arround at the end of my training.

  • Any certain part of it you're having problems with? I think the first step for QoS would be to learn all the concepts like TC, BE ,BE, CIR etc and how to do calculations. The stuff that uses MQC comes pretty easy for me since I have used that a lot  but the FRTS stuff is new to me so that will be a challenge when I soon start with QoS studies. Also there is a lot of stuff about QoS on switches. Did you do all the Vol1 labs?

  • Hello Shodown

INE has a dedicated bootcamp for the QOS, if you have budget i would recommend you to go through the QOS VOD Bootcamp. The following are the topics are covered

  • Thanks for all the replies I havent done any lab work yet as I'm waiting on some gear to come in.  I could possibly do the WAN QOS now with my gear, but I've been most concered with the 3560/3750 QOS.

  • Hello Shodown

Well you can schedule some rack session for testing the QOS feature..

    Happy Studying

  • This is certainly a great course.

I also cover nearly 6 hours of pure QoS from fundamental concepts to implemenation on both the LAN and the WAN in these four CCNP Voice videos:

Quality of Service Fundamentals - Part 1

Quality of Service Fundamentals - Part 2

Quality of Service on the LAN

Quality of Service on the WAN

    Cheers,

    Mark

  • Hello Mark

    Thanks for posting the Video.

    Happy Studying
