5.18 EIGRP Stub Routing with Leak Map

When configuring this lab, I get the wrong output on SW2.  The solutions says I should get this output:

Rack1SW2#show ip eigrp neighbors detail

IP-EIGRP neighbors for process 100

HAddressInterface01Hold UptimeSRTTRTO(sec)(ms)

155.1.58.5

Vl58

2 00:00:25

1

200

Version 12.4/1.2, Retrans: 3, Retries: 0

Stub Peer Advertising ( CONNECTED REDISTRIBUTED ) Routes

Suppressing queries

But I get this output:

Rack1SW2#sh ip eigrp nei det
IP-EIGRP neighbors for process 100
H   Address                 Interface       Hold Uptime   SRTT   RTO  Q  Seq
                                            (sec)         (ms)       Cnt Num
1   155.1.58.5              Vl58               2 01:04:13   19   300  0  5
   Version 12.4/1.2, Retrans: 3, Retries: 0, Prefixes: 2
Stub Peer Advertising ( CONNECTED ) Routes
0   155.1.108.10            Fa1/14            27 01:05:05    7   450  0  3
   Version 12.4/1.2, Retrans: 4, Retries: 0, Prefixes: 2

Why doesn't my output say "STUB PEER ADVERTISING (CONNECTED REDISTRIBUTED)" like the solutions?  I configured the stub leak map just like the solutions showed.  Shouldn't it be redistributed if I configure the stub routing command correctly?

Comments

  • It certainly could be an IOS version issue

  • Ah.  I never thought of that.  Thanks.

  • Pretty sure the SG is wrong.  We're not leaking redistributed routes at all, so it looks like that output is a mistake.

    Here's what I get running c3560-ipservicesk9-mz.122-55.SE4.bin:

I agree with the kellerg's post, I also think it should be SG's errata.

However my output looks as follows, it's different from kellerg's output either.

It displays just "( CONNECTED )" but not "(CONNECTED LEAKMAP )" even though I apply the leak-map on R5.

I guess THIS is caused by difference of IOS version, maybe?

  •

    I agree.

It displays just ( CONNECTED ).

    Not ( CONNECTED REDISTRIBUTED ).

Much less ( CONNECTED LEAKMAP ).

I was wondering the cause of this might:

I forgot to set no shut of VLAN9 after task 5.17.

    Wrong .

    Nothing has changed.

    Then, the cause might:

    I forgot to set

    router eigrp 100

     timers active-time 1

    on R5 in task 5.16.

(It is missing in the solution guide, though)

    Wrong.

    Nothing has changed.

  • Connected & summary is the default mode for stub configuration. You can define static and receive-only option as well if required.

  •

    Thanks, Hari

I have restarted from the scratch with Bistaar,

    the result is the same.

    Let me sleep on it.

Have to move to next, OSPF.
