I am going to write CCDP Arch Exam coming Tuesday, Any tips guys?
So how did you do? What study guides did you use, and did they prepare you for the exam? Hope you passed...
Although It may not called as Success Story compare to CCIE Success stories over INE blog. But As I used INE material for this preparation I must thank them.
After Passing CCDA few months back I thought CCDP is going to be easy one. But I was totally wrong. I must say it was the toughest exam I took so far. I took CCIE Written already but it was easier compare to CCDP Arch.
with that being said here is list of material I used For CCDP Arch, For list of CCDA material please visit CCDA forum, I posted my CCDA Success story there :-)
1. All material I used for CCDA
2. CCDP Arch Self Study Guide
3. INE V- Seminars and CCNP COD
Apart from these below is the list of documents which are kind of Must read stuff before attempting Arch Exam IMHO . Also this material is for current version of Arch, not sure what extra they are putting in for new version of Arch coming from 8th Nov.
Thanks to INE Team Once Again...[D]
I am definitely going for CCDE once you guys release CCDE Material [H]
BTW...I passed this exam today only after delaying it so many times [:P]
Great Job!! And nice post with the references too, after I do my CCNP I am going to step back and start down the design stuff too, should clear up some things that wander into my head now and then.
Well done [Y]
A have a little question:
After completing the ccnp track i also want to go for the ccdp as it is only 2 exams more.
I already ordered the "CCDP Arch Self Study Guide".
Do you think it is also suitable for the ccda study? i don't want to buy the ccda book if the CCDP-one will also serve well.
Thx for your advise [:)]
I haven't sat the test, but I've heard Top Down Network Design is hands down the best book for CCDA and CCDP. That's probably what I'm going to grab for my next book.
Arch Self Study guide is good enough for passing the current exam. But be aware that from 8th Nov Cisco is coming up with new version of exam. So you may need to buy newer version of book.
Apart from Arch book make sure you read the DOC which I listed .
The book that you mentioned is a good book as far reading on design goes but still not necessary to read this book. Though extra readings never hurt [:P] but from exam prospective its not a must read kind of book.
There is another one " Campus Network Design Fundamentals" but again not a must read kind of stuff for these exams.
Even if you read all the stuff I mentioned in my CCDA pass post and CCDP pass post, you should be all set.
Also the main difference which I found between two exams is that CCDA was much more focussed on Design part like 80 % design Vs 20 % technology. But on the other hand CCDP Arch was 70% technology and 30% design.
So keep these things in mind and make sure you read all ref docs I mentioned for CCDP Arch.
Sounds good Deepak, I appreciate the guidance!
