Senior Data Center Engineer - Champaign, IL - Several Openings


Job Description and Responsibilities

This entry-level position is intended to foster growth into
other technical roles within Mezolink. 
As such, employees in this role are exposed via a number of mechanisms
to various technologies and customer support engagements, and are able to fall
back on the team for assistance.

Table 1 - Responsibilities

Provide Systems Administration in a Data Center Setting

Day to Day System Administration

Work with more senior technical resources to achieve greater
technical understanding of issues

Refine operations skills through shadowing of more senior resources

Maintain internal documentation for data center networks, components
and services

Escalate issues appropriately within the organization and to vendor
support organizations to rapidly resolve customer technical issues

Assist Enterprise Services in Incident Escalation while adhering to
change control process

Assist in maintaining absolute uptime

Other duties as assigned

Role Requirements

Standard employment requirements for Mezolink:


  • Must be able to prove eligibility to obtain and
    retain employment in the United States

  • Must accurately complete Homeland Security's
    "I9" form within three (3) days from start of employment

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with
    correct and up-to-date address information

  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work,
    as well as be able to travel around and out of town for support engagements on
    very short notice, with the potential for overnight trips

  • Must have any and all state-mandated insurance
    coverage on any vehicle used in any Mezolink business

  • Must maintain good personal hygiene and dress
    appropriately for your role

  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading and
    writing of the English language

  • Must have a clean criminal record

  • Must be able to pass drug screening

In addition to the standard Mezolink employment requirements
listed above, the following role-specific requirements must be met to achieve
this position.

Technology Certifications



  • Two Current Professional Level Certificates
    (e.g. MCITP, MCPD, CCNP, CCDP) or at least one highly-specialized
    Professional Level Certificate (e.g. VCP, CCVP, CCSP, CCIP, MCITP:Enterprise
    Messaging)

  • Must have a written plan to achieve at least
    one Expert/Architect-Level Certification Within two (2) years of entering
    role

Relevant Experience

Experience providing field-based implementations of technical
solutions and making basic implementation decisions with limited, if any,
guidance

Knowledge

Project leadership-level working & implementation knowledge of at
least two of the following:


  • Advanced Network Operating Systems and Server
    Applications

VMware Server Virtualization (ESX/ESXi)
