Changes from IEWB-RS-VOL1.v5.014 to v5.015

Hello,

I am currently working through volume 1 and I have found that the version 5.014 that I printed a while ago is now 35 pages shorter than the current version 5.015. This is not a big deal, however I would like to know what has changed. It would be nice to have a way to be able to download just the portions that were changed, or at least to know at which page to look for changes in the new document.

Thanks,

Vlad

  • Vladimir,

No content is being removed from Volume I. Several blank pages have
been removed to improve appearance and to make formating consistent.
The decision was made to convert to a single document in order to better
manage revisions and changes, now there is only one master document to
maintain rather than 14, and a single revision of that document is
released including updates to multiple or single chapters.

It is our sincere hope to complete this initial revision effort, and
then once we have a validated and verified master document to then
maintain an add, deletion and change log for Volume One. We do not plan
to just release documents including changes, or to go back to
individual chapters for the reasons mentioned above.

However, we are always willing to listen to student/client input, and
    welcome any feedback.

  • Thanks for your response. I didn't mean to say that content has been removed, I meant revision 15 has 35 more pages than revision 14. Since I had printed revision 14, I was curious to find what has been added in the version 15, without having to go page by page to compare with revision 14.

  • Sorry we miss read your post. The additional pages come from corrected
labs that where somehow absent from the OSPF chapter, and the addition
    of blank pages for formating.

Currently we are finishing QoS, and then security will be release
    shortly after.

  • I think a log of changes would be extremelly useful. Something similar to a release guide, where you just mention either revised lab numbers or go into detail what was changed such as page x paragraph 3 was changed...etc. The biggest problem is that if there are typos, it's impossible to find them in revisions unless you compare page by page to find out what you learn is not incorrect.

    Just my feedback..

    thanks
