Regardless if you like Obama or not, I feel since everyone is ranting and raving either "for" or "against" Obama and the new Healthcare plan passing and signed into law, here are some humorous mnemonic's that might just help you to remember some of the details regarding BGP! BGP Path Attributes

We Love Obama AS Obama Means Pure Refreshment!

translates to:

Weight, Local-Pref, Originate (local), AS Path, Origin, MED, Path, Router-id

BGP Messages

Obama Updated Nation's Key Reform! <--- in reference to healthcare [:P]

translates to:

Open, Update, Notification, Keepalive, Route-refresh

 

BGP Finite-State Machine Operation (FSM)

I Care About Obama's Opposition Everyday!

translates to:

Idle, Connect, Active, Open-sent, Open-confirm, Established.
