5.2 BGP will as-path work traffic-flow wise

Hi, I am a beginner in BGP i admit it

came up with this solution for this question. dunno what will happen after putting it!???

R6:

config t

!

access-list 1 permit any

!

ip as-path access-list 1 deny _300_

ip as-path access-list 1 deny _200_

!

route-map Filtering

match ip as-path 1

exit

!

router bgp 100

neighbor 204.12.1.254 route-map Filtering out

neighbor 54.1.3.254 route-map Filtering out

exit

!

  • The problem with this solution is that, traffic from AS 300 & 200 will get into AS 100 and will get filtered from getting sent out. This is not an efficient way as your bandwidth is getting compromised.

The principle used in the SG is that, if you don't tell anyone you have access to a certain resource, how will anyone even approach you for it, thereby avoiding any traffic to AS54 thru AS100.

    Hope the explanation was clear.
