OER Video

Are there any ATC videos that address OER?  I see this as new tasks added onto Workbook 1.

  • They are in the R&S written bootcamp

  • We are planning on adding it to the new version 4.0 ATCOD Class on Demand that we are recording now.

It is currently covered in the following products to various degrees:

     - Core Knowledge Sim
     - Volume 1
     - Volume 2
     - Advanced Troubleshooting Bootcamp
     - CCIE Written Bootcamp
     - Open Lecture Series
     - 6 Day R&S Bootcamp - Live Version

  • Thank You Anthony.  Please, please, please add something to ATC COD.  It is really frustrating trying to learn this through the DOC-CD and the information in Workbook 1.  Imagine trying to learn OSPF for the first time with just having the DOC-CD to reference....and that is how I felt going thru the tasks in Workbook 1.

I just got through blowing up the forum on the OER section of Workbook.  Sorry if I posted too much on the threads over there.

  • PinGorilla,

Have you seen this?  Pretty much covers everything you need to know, BUT takes a while to do it.  If you have a spare evening to devote to OER, I highly recommend this "novel."

  • Thanks, I may browse through it.  I just prefer the approach of "here is what you NEED to know to pass" and "here are the caveats that you NEED to be aware of".

  • Hrmm...don't know how to respond to that.

Yeah....dont really know about that.....good luck though....you're gonna need it.....

OER and PfR from the DOC cd is frustrating...I was spending too much time on it in Workbook 1 so I moved on...once I see videos I will go back and mess with it.....

So much to learn...so little time.,....

  • Yeah - and remember gang - it is not CCIE - PfR track.

We have to study this technology of course, but I seriously doubt are scenario will be as complex as Volume 1 in the lab.

They cannot dedicate 10 points to Pfr!!!!!!

  • I hear ya Anthony.I understand your point.

My fear is that 95% of the OER in a complex scenario will be done, and then they will want us to fix it in the troubleshooting part.

I expect this from most of the really complex topics. There isn't enough time to have you do it end to end in the config part, so they have you fix it. That to me is harder than doing the whole config.

  • I would first ensure I understand what every phase does from a high level.

Then I would focus on the PfR components and then work outward from there as you have time.

The most likely Trouble Tickets of all would involve those!

  • I (and I am sure everyone else) appreciate the input Anthony... Hopefully we will get to do a good in depth dive at the 12 day bootcamp at the end of march in Tampa that I'm signed up for.  :-)

  • Was "dive" a pun?

    If so - very clever!!!!

    :-)
