  • Question on redistribution in Foundation Lab 3

I'm going through foundation lab 3, and I'm stuck trying to figure out how/why R6 is learing the prefixes redistributed in from EIGRP ( and via router 1, instead of from R7 with OSPFv3.. Anyone got any insight?
  • strange ospfv3 behavior

Hi. I'm working on a sample mini-lab that I've created for OSPFv3. what is strange about OSPFv3 is that the ABR (R5 in my case) gets two N2 routes from 2 ASBR routers in which R5 connects to the ASBR directly with GE interface. but R5 just translate one of N routes despite I have never suppress...

  • OSPFv3 instance-id

Hi; I am working on OSPFv3 and using OSPFv3 new format in configuring. I want to test the relation between instance-id and ospfv3 process id, so I connected 2 routers via gig interface with 3 different sub-interfaces. I used "process-id 1" with 3 instance-ids on one router but configured 3...

  • OSPFv3 tie-breaker

Sorry if this has already been answered. I've searched and searched and have not been able to find an answer, although I have a few suspects. I'm trying to understand why the path through is selected when the path through is the same type, LS age, cost, and metric. R3#sh ipv6...
  • ospfv3 authentication issue

Ospfv3 authentication using the command ospfv3 authentication ipsec is not working - Is anyone encounter the same issue on CSR1000V Software (X86_64_LINUX_IOSD-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.4(3)S1 I tried all the combination possible but ospfv3 still can't come up. I am getting an error about query...
  • OSPFv3 path selection issue

Hi all; I have this topology. the network type on the ethernet segment between R1, R2 and R3 is "point-to-multipoint non-broadcast". so I setup neighborship on that segment with "neighbor" commands: R1: ipv6 address 2000:1:1:123::1/64 ospfv3 neighbor FE80::C803:AFF:FEA4:8 cost 20...

Hi all; I wonder if OSPFv3 supports capability transit or something with the same results.

  • OSPFv3 topology

Hi; I have this topology and have redistributed between OSPF 1 and EIGRP 1 matually on R2 and R5. I tested OSPFv3 topology on R6 to check Inter-area Router LSAs. the results was like this: R6#sh ipv6 ospf data inter-area router OSPFv3 Router with ID ( (Process ID 1) Inter Area Router Link States...

  • Re: ospfv3 cost dynamic

I found RFC 5614 and 7038 are most likely unrelated. I did find more documentation of the dynamic cost feature here . This configuration guide provides clarity to the formula found in the OSPF configuration guide (MDR is maximum data rate, CDR is current data rate, etc.). I also found that doing "show...
