    8.10 PIM NBMA Mode (New section updated 2/8/10)

    The SG says;

    "As you have probably already noticed there is an additional situation to deal with - by default R3 will prefer R5's Loopback via SW1. To correct this, we will lower the metric on R3's Frame Felay interface to a value of 10, to ensure R3 builds the SPT towards the RP correctly."

    My R3 does not prefer R5 L0 via SW1. If we shut the serial link between R4 and R5 (as instructed) I don't see how it ever could. R3 prefers R5 L0 directly via the FR connection.

    Has anyone else experience this behavior?

    I believe it's supposed to say "R6 will prefer R5's Loopback via SW1." Which is true.

    Nevertheless, this did not prevent R6 from registering wiht the RP in my scenario.

    Concurred, same here.  R3 prefers R5's loopback 0 via frame-relay.  The wording needs to be looked at and modified.
