Re: Passed lab configuration in RTP, but failed the OEQs

Ahh unlucky dude. That really is as harsh as you can get; prep'ing hard for the OEQ and then passing the lab but not them. I feel for you. Chin up and get back on it.

i think if you have strong knowlegment for CORE SP you can answer correct this questions.

MPLS Fundamentals is that good book read

QoS by Wendell Odom is too.

Some other books for ISIS and Multicast.

I think all questions for CCIE SP must basic.

I am thinking no one is being rude here - but just a reminder that we will not tolerate rudeness on this forum of any kind.

    Ramses,

I hope you do well and do get basic questions.  That would be great.  I think I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  The stars didn't align up right for me or something.  It's happened to quite a few people on the R/S lab exam as well.  You will not benefit at all thinking the questions will be a walk in the park.  You may get lucky, but if you don't, you may wind up in the same situation I am in.  And, I wish this on no one.  I feel somewhat cheated out of my number, but I know ultimately, the fault is mine.  I just need to keep studying and go back.  It will make me a stronger person because of it.

    Good luck to you!

@Tony, I was kidding around before about him calling me an idiot.  I knew someone was going to come in and say something like that.  It's all good.  I exposed myself to criticism by even posting this topic.  I'm a big boy.  I can handle it.  My main goal was to just let people know that there are questions out there that are not so cut and dry and may not be short answer.  I know the sections of the blueprint I need to focus on now.  I don't plan to have a weakness next go around.

Everyone, just take your time on the OEQs.  That one basic question I missed was just me not stopping and really thinking about it.  I answered fast and went on.  I was dumb for that.  Regardless, I still would have failed because of the two other questions.  Guys, just study and read.  Don't go into this thinking its a walk in the park.  I was expecting it to be basic SP stuff too (like questions 100 through 200 on the simulator which I aced...for some reason I found those easier than 1 through 100), but it wasn't.  It's better to be over prepared for this.

Awilkins, it must be hard to swallow. I really feel sorry for you. I can't imagine how bad I would feel if I were in your position. You should be proud of yourself that you didn't simply give up. I wish you nail the lab next time!
