    LAB 2.....7.1 rate-limit

    Hi,

     

    In question 7.1 how BC and BE is calculated ?

    Hi Ganpat,

    From the first bullet CIR = 6000000 bps

    As the question says: "Allow for a commited burst of 1/8 of this rate an no excess burst"

    Bc (bits) = 1/8 * CIR = 6000000/8 = 750000
    Bc (bytes) = 750000/8
    Bc (bytes) = 93750

    To disable excess burst in CAR, Be must be equal to Bc, then:

    Be (bytes) = 93750
