    Spanning tree

    greetings all,

the below Q is from IEWB VolII lab9 Q1.6

configure switch 2 to match the highlighted output below:

    SW2@sh span vlan 68

    vlan68

    spanning tree enabled protocol ieee

    Root ID priority 24644

    address xxxx.xxxx.xxxx

this bridge is the root bridge

hello time 1 sec   Max age 7 sec  forward delay 5 sec

the answer was " spanning tree vlan 68 root primary diameter 3 hello-time 1"

how did we get the value of the diameter = 3 ?

    thanks

    Re: Spanning tree

I would have done it by trial and error if forced to use diameter. The key value is the timer manipulation of course and I do not recall seeing a specific value table for that in the config guide.

BTW-diameter refers to the number of switches wide your network is.
