STP bpdu filter & guard used together

If you have an interface on a Nexus platform configured with the following:

    switchport mode trunk

    spanning-tree port type edge trunk

    spanning-tree bpdu filter

    spanning-tree bpdu guard

Will the “spanning-tree bpdu filter” command trump the “spanning-tree bpdu guard” command?

If the answer is yes…why would the “spanning-tree bpdu guard” command be there at all?

Yes, at least in regular switches.
