    10.12 - max of 16 concurrent RTP and TCP sessions

    I'm just wondering why the configuration for 16 concurrent TCP and RTP sessions requires the config to be 32.  Is it a directional thing and the number of connections includes inbound and outbound?

    Interface s 0/1

    ip tcp header-compression passive

    ip tcp compression-connections 32

    ip rtp header-compression passive

    ip rtp compression-connections 32

    thanks!

    Tammy

    I noticed the same thing. No where in cisco's doc was I able to find out that it should be for each sides i.e. 32 instead of 16.

    Is this a type? Can anyone commet?

    Thank you,

    I dont understand why the solution is for 32 due to bidirectional rtp/tcp traffic. The output of the show command designates 16 for rx and 16 for tx:

    Rack1R4#sh ip rtp header-compression
    RTP/UDP/IP header compression statistics:
      Interface Serial1/1 (compression on, Cisco, RTP)
        Rcvd:    0 total, 0 compressed, 0 errors, 0 status msgs
                 0 dropped, 0 buffer copies, 0 buffer failures
        Sent:    0 total, 0 compressed, 0 status msgs, 0 not predicted
                 0 bytes saved, 0 bytes sent
        Connect: 16 rx slots, 16 tx slots,
                 0 misses, 0 collisions, 0 negative cache hits, 16 free contexts

    I have the same question...

    I used "ip tcp compression-connections16" and I get the following output from my router:

    ========================

    ...

    Connect: 16 rx slots, 16 tx slots

    ...

    ========================
